Introduction
Front View
When the digit pointer is available on an alpha numeric value entry field such as
File Name and Variable Strings, the helper panel is displayed above the field. The
helper panel allows you to enter a character into the specified digit. It is not
available for the numeric value entry fields such as Voltage Source and Triggered
Voltage Source.
Note that the Save, Recall, Coarse Res, and Fine Res keys cannot move the field
pointer when it is in the MOVE (blue) status.

If the Voltage Source field is in the EDIT status, turning the rotary knob changes
the display value and updates the voltage source output in real time.
However, if the digit pointer is available, the voltage source works as follows. The
operation depends on the setting of the real time update.
• Real time update: ON
Turning the rotary knob changes the display value and updates the voltage
source output in real time. Cannot move the decimal point using the digit
pointer.
• Real time update: OFF
Turning the rotary knob just changes the display value. The value is applied to
the voltage source output by pressing the rotary knob.
The setting of the real time update can be changed by using the Immediate
Voltage Update by Knob field on the Display Preference dialog box opened by
pressing the System Menu > More... (1 of 2) > Display > Pref. function keys.
To Change the Settings on a Dialog Box
1. Set the items on the dialog box in the same way as described in “To Change
the Setting in the Field” on page 33.
2. To apply the settings, press Apply.
To apply all settings and close the dialog box, press OK.
To cancel the setting change, press the Cancel/Local key instead of Apply.
