How to Perform Measurement
Voltage Measurement
Setup Parameters
This section briefly describes how to set key parameters effective for accurate and
reliable voltage measurement.
Guarded and Unguarded Connections
Voltmeter input is a triaxial connector. The center conductor and the outer shield
are connected to the voltmeter input and the chassis ground respectively. And the
inner shield must be connected to Guard for the guarded voltage measurement or
Common for the unguarded voltage measurement.
To make this internal connection, open the Input Connection dialog box by
pressing the System Menu > Config > Measure > Connection function keys and set
the Voltage Measure Inner Shield field properly. The following values are available.
GUARD Inner shield is connected to Guard. For the guarded
voltage measurement connection for performing
accurate measurement. Guarded voltmeter indicator turns on.
CCOM Inner shield is connected to Common. For the unguarded
voltage measurement connection which makes connection
easy. Guarded voltmeter indicator turns off.
To set the value, use the assist key and/or the rotary knob, and press OK to apply
the setting and close the dialog box.
