Chapter 5 - page 19
Operator’s manual ASTRONAUT
M-HE.002.1003
Always guide cows which do not visit the milking robot frequently enough or which experienced a failed connection
through the robot yourself. In case of a failed connection, try to establish the cause of it (e.g. oblique teat position,
too hairy udder etc.).
If the cows udder was milked empty during a failed milking, the next milking may fail again since the udder in
question will not provide a milk flow. This vicious circle can be broken by pressing the stop-button, after which the
robot inquires if the cow has been milked. Wait until the last quarter is almost empty, then press "yes". The milking
is now considered successful, and the cow in question is removed from the alarm list.
5.6 HANDLING ALARMS
In general any failure on the robotic milking system will generate an alarm. When an alarm is generated proceed
as follows:
• Check the nature of the alarm
• Troubleshoot (establish the cause of the alarm)
• Solve the problem, i.e. with the help of a service technician.
For more information, refer to chapter 7 ’Failures’.
• Reset system.
