Introduction
Congratulations on your choice of a LELY ASTRONAUT robotic milking system. This equipment is designed and
manufactured to meet the needs of a discriminating buyer in the dairy industry for the robotic milking of dairy
industry for the robotic milking system of dairy cows.
The software version (see chapter 3.4.16 ’Testmenu’) as described in this
manual is conform the software version number as indicated on the screen
of the robot control box (see adjacent screen).
Safe, efficient and trouble free operation of your new robotic milking system
requires that you, and anyone else who will be operating or maintaining the
milking robot, READ, UNDERSTAND and PRACTICE all of the safety,
operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting recommendations contained within this operator’s manual.
This manual applies to the ASTRONAUT robotic milking system distributed by the respective Lely service
provider. Certain options may be available to specifically tailor the milking robot appropriate for regional
requirements to your operation and may not be included in this manual. Please contact the distributor regarding
additional information about these options. Use the table of contents as a guide to find specific information.
NOTE
• After receiving the manuals, it is the responsibility of the owner and/or operator to read the manuals, and
follow the instructions contained with them. Some components or system has its own manual with detailed
instructions. Be familiar with each one before starting. If you have any questions on the instructions, please
contact your nearest Lely service provider.
MACHINE ORIENTATION - The directions are determined by the cow standing in the machine while milking. She
exits through the front, enters through the back and the robot arm and controls are on the left side.
