• Incorrect earthing of the robot may cause electric voltage (static) as a result of which the cows become
anxious.
• Flies are also capable of making cows very anxious, so try to keep them away from the animals, for instance
by means of a fan which blows air underneath the cow to chase the flies away during milking procedure.
7.1.7 Milk receiver jar is not pumped empty
Alarm message = Milkjar full
The pump underneath the milk receiver jar is turning, but the jar is not pumped empty.
• The valve in the milk delivery line is closed. Open it manually and pump the milk
out of the milk receiver jar by pressing the corresponding key on the control panel of the multiple functional
control box.
• Filter is in a very soiled condition. Check the filter and replace it, if necessary.
The pump is turning, but stops prematurely.
• The milk metering unit is not functioning properly. Check if the unit indicates the roughly correct milk quantity.
• Adjust the time in the "Adjust > Additional operation milk pump" menu. For more detailed information refer
to section 3.4.4 ’Adjust’.
7.1.8 Teats are not detected by the TDS
1
/laser system
The TDS
1
/laser system is searching for the teats but cannot detect them.
• The laser screen is soiled. Clean it with meths (also refer to section 6.2.1 ’Daily maintenance’).
• Collars including responders have been exchanged. Make sure that each cow is fitted with the correct
respactor/responder. Adjust the information or exchange the collars along with the responders.
• Change of udder shape in respect of the registered data. The cow is new to the robot if she has not visited
the robot for a while due to calving or illness. As a result the milk yield may have changed considerably.
Treat this cow as new to the robot and put the arm manually in starting position.
• Cow follower system is malfunctioning. This may be sorted out by removing contamination and greasing the
cow follower.
7.1.9 Teats are not sprayed
If the teats are not sprayed properly, this may be due to any of the following causes:
• Incorrect position of valve on top of the reservoir. If you turn the valve counter clockwise (fully), the air will
escape from the reservoir.
• The reservoir will be (air) pressurized if the valve is turned clockwise (fully) to the right.
• The spray nozzle is contaminated or blocked. Remove the nozzle and clean it (also refer to section 6.2.1
’Daily maintenance’ > Spraying agent).
• The filter is blocked. Empty the reservoir and clean the filter (also refer to section 6.2.1 ’Daily maintenance’ >
Spraying agent).
