• Do not block the robot arm. It can move with sufficient force to cause injury to you and/or the cow.
• Do not assist the unit from the control area when attaching the teat cures to the cow.
• Always be alert to unexpected cow movement. Cows may convey major forces to (moving) parts of the
machine.
• Do not look directly into laser light. Keep others away.
• Keep the working area clean and as dry as possible.
• Contact your nearest Lely service provider if you have any questions.
• Review safety related items with all operator’s frequently (annually).
INSTALLATION SAFETY
• Read and follow the instructions contained in the building instructions. Properly locating, positioning and
anchoring the unit in your barn will reduce the chance for mechanical malfunction.
• Make sure that sufficient amperage, at proper voltage, phase and frequency is available before connecting
power.
• Have a authorized electrician provide electrical power to the milking robot.
• Ensure that the grounding of the electrical system meets the locally applied rules and/or standards.
MAINTENANCE SAFETY
• Read and understand all the information contained in the operator’s manual regarding operating, maintaining
or adjusting the milking robot.
• SWITCH OFF the machine, shut down and lockout power supply, relieve pneumatic pressure and wait for all
moving parts to stop before servicing, maintaining, adjusting, repairing or cleaning.
• Exercise extreme caution when working around, or with, high-pressure pneumatic systems. Depressurize the
system before working on it.
• Be careful when working on pneumatic systems. Wear protective clothing and put on safety goggles.
• Make sure all guards, doors and shields are in place, and properly secured maintenance work is completed.
• Make sure the electrical power supply is OFF before working on the machines electrical system. Energized
circuits can cause injury to persons.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
• Have an authorized electrician provide electrical power to the milking robot.
• Ensure that the grounding of the electrical system meets the locally applied rules and/or standards.
• Make sure that all electrical switches are in the OFF position before turning the electrical power on.
• Turn the machine OFF, shut down and lock out the power supply, relieve pneumatic pressure and wait for all
moving parts to stop before servicing, adjusting, maintaining or repairing.
• Replace any damaged electrical lines, conduits, switches and components immediately.
• Do not open the electrical panel to work on the electrical system, unless electrical power is locked out at the
master panel.
