Operator’s manual ASTRONAUT
M-HE.002.1003
Actual position of spoon number 1
Actual position sample bottle 12
Enter the number of the bottle underneath the spoon (= filling point of the sampling device).
This allows registration of the position of the sample bottles. If value "1" has been adjusted, the serrated frame
is lifted again to locate the spoon at the correct position in a rather simple way.
Rack number
Enter the sequence number of the bottle rack. Enter "1", unless another rack was filled within the last 48 hours.
If so, choose the number which follows the one of the last rack. If more than one milking robot is in operation,
you should keep applying different rack numbers.
Optimal time (12) hour
Time in which samples can be taken (default 12). Always one sample will be taken. If a cow visits within the
"Optimum time" after the first sample, a second sample will be taken.
Sampling valve
Valve sample open/closed
In order to connect the SHUTTLE sampling system to the ASTRONAUT milking robot, the valve of the
sampling unit should be opened to enable insertion of the milk tube.
Monstername set (sampling definitions) (figure 3.5)
•0 - No sampling
No sampling active at this moment or this option.
This option must be used to turn off all sampling procedures.
•1 - All cows
All cows that visit the milking robot will be taken a sample from.
•2 - Individual
You will have to enter a cow number after selecting this option. The milking robot will take one milk sample of
the cow you entered.
3 - 1 sample
One milk sample from each cow will be taken. When this sampling procedure has finished (i.e. all cows were
sampled once), turn off by selecting option 0 - No sampling.
4 - 1 sample Loc
One milk sample per cow based on the local database of the robot. This option is not in use yet.
5 - 2 samples
Two milk samples from each cow will be taken. When this sampling procedure has finished (i.e. all cows were
sampled twice), turn off by selecting option 0 - No sampling.
6 - Optimal
One milk sample from each cow will be taken. If a cow visits the milking robot again within the "Optimum time"
after the first sample was taken, a second one can be taken.
When this sampling procedure has finished (i.e. all cows were sampled once or twice), turn off by selecting
option 0 - No sampling.
7 - Separation
Each cow which is put on manual milk separation a milksops will be taken of. Also the next cow visiting the
milking robot, after the milk separation cow, a sample will be taken of.
8 - Correct rack
If something went wrong during sampling procedures i.e. 1 sample, 2 sample or optimal, an option is built
in to take another sample of all cows that have been taken a sample of on the failed rack (cassette).
This means that all cows which have been taken a sample of on a specific cassette, will be sampled again
after doing the "CORRECT RACK" for this specific cassette.
