9.5.1 Motor overload monitoring (i²*t)
This funcon monitors the thermal overload of the motor, taking the motor currents recorded
and
a mathemacal model as a basis.
DANGER!
Fire hazard by overheang of the motor.
P
ossible consequences: Death or severe injuries
▶
To achieve full motor protecon, an addional temperature monitoring funcon with a
separate evaluaon must be installed.
Details
This funcon only serves to funconally protect the motor. It is not suitable for safety-relevant
protecon against energy-induced hazards, since the funcon is not fail-safe.
•
When the thermal mot
or
ulisaon calculated reaches the threshold set in 0x2D4B:001
(P308.01), the response set in 0x2D4B:003 (P308.03) is triggered.
•
With the seng 0x2D4B:003 (P308.03) = "No response [0]", the monitoring funcon is
deacvated.
For operaon that complies with NEC arcle 430 with motor overload
protecon, do not modify the default sengs 0x2D4B:002
(P308.02) and
0x2D4B:003 (P308.03)! (0x2D4B:002 (P308.02) = "On [0], 0x2D4B:003 (P308.03)
= "Error [3]"). With these sengs, the calculated thermal motor load is stored
internally when the inverter is switched o and reloaded again when switched
on. When the monitoring is deacvated with the seng 0x2D4B:003 (P308.03)
= "No response [0]" or "Warning [1]", the motor overload protecon is
deacvated. For operaon that complies with NEC arcle 430 in this mode, the
external overload protecon must be provided by the end user.
