11.8 Update device rmware
The device
rmware is connuously improved by the manufacturer. New rmware versions
contain error correcons, funcon extensions and simplify the handling.
A new rmware is always compable with the older version:
•
A device with updated rmware and unchanged parameter sengs shows the same
behaviour as before.
•
Parameter sengs must only be adapted if new funcons are used.
11.8.1 Firmware download with »EASY Starter (rmware loader)«
The »EASY Starter (rmware loader)« is a PC soware which serves to update the rmware of
the device.
Precondions
•
F
or the
rmware download, we recommend a direct USB connecon to the device. For
this purpose, the USB module and a USB 2.0 cable (A plug on Micro-B plug) are required.
The voltage supply of the control electronics also takes place via the USB connecon.
•
The c
ontrol electronics of the inverter must be supplied with voltage via the USB
connecon.
•
Voltage supply and communicaon must not be interrupted during the rmware
download.

For this purpose, the »EASY Package Manager« is provided with current les by the manufacturer and enables the
user to install them.

The les also include new rmware versions for inverters.
»EASY Starter (rmware
loader)«
Enables the update of the rmware for inverters.
•
The update can be made by the mechanical engineer or the end user depending on the access protecon set for
the device.
Carry out the
rmware download with the »EASY Starter (rmware loader)«:
1.
Start »EASY Navigator« (All programs à Lenze à EASY Navigator).
2.In the »EASY Navigator«, change to the "Ensuring producvity" engineering phase.
3.
Click the »EASY Starter (rmware loader)« icon (see on the le).
4.Follow the instrucons of the »EASY Starter (rmware loader)«.
Notes:
•
The rmware download will not take more than 20 seconds. The progress is shown in
the »E
ASY Starter (rmware loader)«.
•
Aer the rmware download, the connecon to the device gets lost for some second and
is then restored again automacally.
•
De
vice
sengs are not changed by the rmware download.
•
The brand protecon does not get lost by the rmware download.
•
The rmware can neither be exported from the device nor be deleted from the device.
If the connecon is aborted during the rmware download, this may have the following
c
onsequences:
•
The device starts with the old rmware. The rmware download can be restarted.
•
The rmware in the device is damaged. Consultaon with the manufacturer is required.
