9.5.3 Motor phase failure detecon
The motor phase failure detecon funcon can be acvated for asynchronous motors.
Precondions
Motor phase failure detecon during operaon is suitable for applicaons which are operated
with a c
onstant load and speed. In other cases, transient processes or unfavourable operang
points can cause erroneous triggering to occur.
Details
If a current-carrying motor phase (U, V, W) fails during operaon, the response selected in
0x2D45:001 (P310.01) is tripped and a logbook entry is made.
Excepon: With the seng "No response [0]", no logbook entry is made.
A motor phase failure can only be detected if
1.
the rated motor current is higher than 10 % of the rated inverter current and
2.
the output frequency is not lower than 0.1 Hz (standsll).
The lower the output frequency the longer the detecon of the motor phase failure.

Voltage threshold for motor phase monitoring for the VFC control mode
(0x2C00 (P300.00) = 6).

The monitoring funcon is triggered if the motor current exceeds the
rated motor current-dependent current threshold for longer than
20 ms. Motor rated current 0x6075 (P323.00)
•
In case of the V/f characterisc control, the voltage threshold is
considered addionally for the motor phase failure detecon. If the
motor voltage is higher than the voltage threshold, monitoring is
combined with the motor current.
