4.ExhaustPyrometer(IfEquipped)Indicatesthetemperatureofexhaustgases
(about12to16inchesfromthedieselparticulatelterinletconnections).This
helpstheoperatorselectthepropergearforloadandgradeconditions,thereby
avoidingexcessiveexhausttemperatures.
CAUTION
DoNOTexceedthemaximumexhausttemperatureindicatedbytheredlineonthegauge.
Toreduceexhausttemperature,downshiftorreduceenginepower .Ifoperatingincold
climateswithawinterfront,openthewinterfront.
5.TransmissionOilTemperatureGauge(IfEquipped)Indicatestransmission
oiltemperature.
CAUTION
ThemaximumsafeoiltemperatureforMACKtransmissionsis121°C(250°F)for
mineral-basedoil,or148°C(300°F)forsyntheticoil.Continuedoperationswithoil
abovethistemperaturewillcauserapiddeteriorationoftheoil’ slubricatingproperties
andisNOTrecommended.Consultthevendormanualfornon-MACKcomponents.
6.AftertreamentDEFTankLevelgauge(SCR)T ellstheamountofDEFuidin
thetank.
6.CoolantTemperatureGauge(DPF)Normaloperatingrange(77°Cto107°C;
170°Fto225°F).Oncetheenginereachesthistemperature,itcanbeoperatedin
anormalfashion.
