Troubleshooting
ThefollowingchecksmaybeusedtodiagnoseanyproblemswhichmayarisewithRemote
KeylessEntrysystemoperation.Remembertocheckalltransmitters.
1Lowerthewindows,turntheignitionkeytotheOFFpositionandclosethedoors.
2Standnearthedriver’ssidedoor,aimthetransmitteratthevehicleandoperateboth
functionsofthetransmitter.Repeatforalltransmitters,ifapplicable.
•Ifasinglefunctionononetransmitterisinoperative,replacethetransmitter.
•Ifallfunctionsonanyofthetransmittersareinoperative,reprogramalltransmitters
andrepeatthetroubleshootingprocedures.Refertothe"Programmingthe
Transmitter"section.
•Ifonetransmittercannotbeprogrammed,replacethebatteryinthetransmitter.Refer
tothe"BatteryReplacement"section.
3Ifallfunctionsonalltransmittersoperate,standapproximatelyvefeetfromthevehicle
(atseveralpointsaroundthevehicle),andchecktheoperationofalltransmittersat
eachpoint.
•Ifonetransmitterdoesnotoperateatsomepointwhereanothertransmitterdoes
operate,replacethebatteryinthetransmitterthatdoesnotoperate.
•Ifalltransmittersoperateapproximatelyvefeetfromthevehicle,thesystemis
operatingproperlyandnorepairsshouldbeattempted.
ProgrammingtheTransmitter:
1TurntheignitionswitchtotheONposition.
2Accessthekeylessentrymodule,locatedbehindtheD-Panel.
3PushtheProgramswitchonthekeylessentrymodulethreetimes.TheprogramLEDon
themodulewillbesolid,toindicateyouarenowintheTransmitterProgrammingMode.
4Pressanybuttonononeofthetransmittersuntilthehornrespondswithachirpandthe
LEDwillashonce,toconrmthersttransmitterisnowprogrammed.
5Ifnecessary,repeatStep3toprogramthe2nd,3rdand4thtransmitters.
Note:Ifmorethanfourtransmittersareprogrammed,thesystemwillonlyretainthelast
fourtransmittersprogrammed.
6ToexitProgrammingMode,turntheignitionswitchtotheOFFposition,orsimplywait
15seconds.TheLEDwillbeofftoconrmexit.
