8. Installation Manual
8.1 Before Installation
Warning: The MFC is heavy. It is necessary for three people to unpack the MFC.
Always follow good health and safety procedures when you lift.
Caution: Only connect the MFC to a mains power supply of the correct voltage with a
good earth-connection. The correct machine-voltage is shown on the label at the mains
po
wer supply input on the rear of the DRV module. If the machine is connected to an
incorrect power supply it can cause damage and the warranty will be cancelled.
Step Action Information
1 Check that the packaging is not
damaged.
2 Check that the necessary input
volt
age is available.
The MFC and booklet-maker system
must be connected to dedicated
power outlet sockets. Never use a
multi-gang extension that has a long
lead.
3 Check that the low voltage
transformer
taps are correctly set.
(See Section 4.5.3).
4 Check that the environmental
conditions are correct for the MFC.
• Ambient temperature: 10-35°C:
50-95°F
• Relative humidity: 35-85%
5 Check the floor surface and
covering.
Install the MFC system on a flat, hard
floor.
• A floor that is not flat can cause
alignment problems.
• Soft floor coverings can make it
difficult to move the booklet-
maker system.
6 Check that there is sufficient floor
area available to install the MFC.
It is recommended that the MFC is
installed in a position where there is a
minimum of:
• 500mm distance between the
electrical cabinet cover and any
static object, such as a wall.
• 500mm distance between the
RH side of the MFC and any
static object, such as a wall.
This action will permit access to the
electrica
l cabinet and RH side of the
machine when service work is
necessary.
