Displaying Chart
Object and Source
Information
The boundaryof eachchart digitized in the current card is defined by a box or
rectangle.(You can switchoffthe chartboundariesdisplayifyou wish, aspart
of the chartplotterset up described in Section 7.7.)
➤ To zoomin:
1. Usethetrackpadtomovethecursorinsideoneofthechartboxes,andpress
the lower part of the RANGE key.
That area is expanded,with the cursorat the centre,so that you can see
moredetail.Notethatthe smallerthe chartbox is on the screen, the further
you can zoom in and the greater the amount of detail that is available.
If you have switched on PlotterMode (see Section 7.7), you can zoom in
furtherthan the most detailed chart; all chart functions remain available.
Displaying Chart Object and Source Information
Chart cards include a number ofdisplayed objectsfor which information is
available, such as lights and buoys. They also contain additionalsourcedata
forstructures,lines,open sea areas etc. You can use the context-sensitive
cursorto identify(in a pop-up box) an object or chart positionand you can
obtain detailed informationfor the selected item.
Set up options let you specifywhen an identificationpop-up is displayed;
three optionsare available:
• Display a pop-up for all objects and source data automaticallywhen the
cursoris over the objectsymbol or source area.
• Display a pop-up for displayed objectswhen the cursoris over the symbol.
• Do not display the identification pop-ups.
The chartplotteralso providesinformationfor the nearestwaypoint,port
service,port,tide station, wreck or obstruction for a selected position. If your
chartincludes port and tide data, this can be displayed.
➤ To identify an item and obtain detailed information:
1. Move the cursor over the symbol or chart position for which you require
the information.If specifiedin Chart Set Up,a pop-up box suchas the fol-
lowingis displayed at the lower left or upperright corner of the screen:
2. Toviewdetailedinformation,pressENTER.Thedetailsavailablearelisted
on-screenin an object information pop-up.
The pop-upis spit into two windows; objects are listed in the upperwin-
dow and details for the selected object are providedin the lower win-
