Changing the Lighting & Contrast
You can change the levelof backlightingand contrastfor thescreenand keys.
The key lighting is set the same as the screen lighting, except that it remains
switched on atits lowest level even when the screen lightingis turned off,so
that you can always find the keys.
➤ To changethe lighting and contrast:
1. Press the MULTI key to display the soft key controls:
Thelast-usedsoftkeyishighlightedin inversevideo(whitetextonablack
background).
If you press MULTI during the magnetron warm-up sequence countdown,
only the LIGHT and CONTRAST sliders are displayed, and the lightingis
automaticallyswitched on at its last-used level.
2. To selecta control(if it is not already highlighted) pressthe soft key.
Alternatively, you canpress the trackpadleft and right edges to move side-
ways betweenthe controlsto selectthe soft key.
3. If necessary, press the soft key to toggle the controlON/OFF.
4. Usethe trackpad (up or down) to increaseor decreasethe setting(between
0 and 100 in 1% steps).You can press and hold the trackpadto change the
settingmore rapidly. The lighting/contrast levelis adjusted as you change
the setting.
5. PressENTER toremovethesoftkeyslidersandreturntothedefaultscreen,
with thenew lightingand contrastlevels retained, or press CLEAR to dis-
cardthe changes and return to the default screen.
If lights are left ON when you switch off the display, the next time the display
isswitchedon,thelightswillbe ON,butatthedefaultsettingof40%.The new
contrast level is retaineduntil you reset it, unlessyou set the controlvery low
or veryhigh; in this case, the contrastwill be restored as follows:
Contrastset < 30% restored to 30%
Contrastset > 70 % restored to 70%
