1.4 Operating Controls
You operate the radar and chart using a variety of controls:
• A trackpad providingup, down, left, right and diagonal control of an on-
screen cursor.
• Elevendedicated(labeled)controlkeys.
• Four soft keys with labels displayed on the screen.
• Pop-upmenus, displayed on-screen, fromwhich you select options.
• Database lists,displayed on-screen, whichenable you to edit items.
Note: The cursor is the cross-hair symbol (+) visible on the display. You move
the cursor using the trackpad and use it to select a position or item on the chart.
ThecontrolkeysareshowninFigure 1-6.Theyareback-litfornight-timeuse.
When you use a control, a helpmessage is displayed at the top of the screen
(unlessyou switch help off as described in Chapter 7).The following
paragraphsdescribethe controlsand on-screen facilities.
