Selecting a Waypoint
Positioning the cursor over a waypoint selects that waypointand accessesthe
waypointsoftkeys.ThesekeysenableyoutoGOTO (describedinSection 5.5),
EDIT (symbol, name, position), ERASE orMOVE the waypoint.
Selecting a waypoint from the List allows you to GOTO and EDIT (symbol,
name,position,erase)thewaypoint.The WaypointListalso providesoptions
to make a new waypoint and transfer waypoints.
➤ To select a waypointusing the cursor:
1. Move the cursor over the waypoint, until the letters WPT are displayed.
TheWaypointDatabox(seeWaypointDataDisplayonpage 5-12)andthe
followingsoft keys are displayed:
The selectedwaypointcan be editedvia these soft keys.
➤ To select a waypointusing the Waypoint List:
1. Press MARKS,followedbytheWAYPOINT LIST soft key.
The WaypointList and associated soft keys are displayed.
The list details all waypoints in alpha-numeric order. The selectedway-
point is indicated by the selectionbar; its position, bearingand range are
provided.
2. Usethetrackpadtomovetheselectionbarupanddownthelisttohighlight
the required waypoint.
The selectedwaypointcan be editedvia the soft keys displayed.
Waypoint Data Display
Waypointdata can be viewed in two ways: you can use the context-sensitive
cursorto select the waypoint and thus display the waypoint data box, or you
can viewwaypoint details on the waypoint list.
Note: To permanently display the target waypoint data box, select it in the
System Set Up menu (see Section 7.3) and use the SCREEN soft key to switch
data boxes on.
➤ To display the waypoint data box, move the cursor over the waypoint.
The waypointdata box is displayed, this indicateswaypoint number/name,
bearing and range (or latitudeand longitudeif selected in system set up).
While the cursor is over the waypoint, the waypoint soft keys are displayed.
