Target Point Arrival
Target Point Arrival
Thearrivalalarmisusedtoalertyouwhen thevesselisapproachingthetarget
point.Thearrivalalarmisdefinedas acircle(notvisibleonthescreen)around
thetarget. Youcan specify radius of the arrival alarm(see Section 6.3).
The alarmis triggered when eitherof the followingconditionsis met:
The distance to the target point is less than that specifiedfor the arrival
alarm.
Yourvesselreachestheclosestpointofapproachtothetarget(definedbya
line passing through the waypoint and perpendicular to the route leg).
To cancelthe arrival alarm and go towards the next waypoint in the route,
either pressany key
or wait for 10 seconds.
Thetargetbecomestheorigin,thenextwaypointbecomesthetargetpoint,and
thetwo are connectedby a dottedlineindicatingthe currentleg.Any previous
route leg is removed from the screen, but waypoints remain.
Note:When followinga routeusing a SeaTalkautopilot,theautopilotwillnot
turn to the new waypoint until it is accepted at the autopilot control unit.
Other Follow Route Options
You can use the soft keys to follow a route from a selectedwaypoint (join a
route),or if alreadyfollowing,you canadvancetothenextwaypoint.Youcan
alsorestartthe cross track error, settingthe current vessel positionas thenew
origin.
In addition, you can move a selected waypointas describedin Section 5.3,or
remove a waypointfrom the route as described in Section 5.4.
Joining a Route
To start tracking the currentroute at aselected waypoint:
1. Movethe cursor over the required waypoint until the lettersWPT and the
waypointsoft keys aredisplayed.
2. Press the FOLLOW FROM HERE softkey.
Your vessel follows the route, using the selected waypoint as the target
point.
3. Toreturntothedefaultdisplay,movethecursorawayfromthewaypointor
press CLEAR or ENTER.
