2.2 Switching the Display On and Off
If you have a combined Radar/Chartplotter, the factory default power-up
modeisradar.Onceyouhaveusedthedisplayunititpowers-upinthelastused
mode. The following sections describethe power-up sequencein radar and
chartmodes, how to adjust the lightingand how to select simulatormode.
Radar Mode
Thissection explains how to switch the radar display and scanneron and off,
and how to switch the scannerbetween Transmit,Standby and Scanner Off
mode.
Younormallyoperateyourradarintransmitmode,butyoucanuse thedisplay
unit without the scanneroperatingas follows:
Standby mode: You should use this mode when you are not operating the
radar for short time periods. The scannerdoes not transmit and the antenna
doesnot rotate, so the radar uses less power. However,the scanner remains
poweredsowhenyoureturntotransmitmode,themagnetrondoesnotneedto
warm up.
Scanneroff mode: Youshould use this mode when you do not require the
radar,butyouareusingthedisplayunitsay,forchartdata or to view datafrom
another source.Scanner offmode removes power from the scanner.
➤ To switch the display on, press and hold the POWER key until the unitbeeps.
IftheunitwaslastusedinRadarmode,thekeyslightup,thedisplayshowsthe
Pathfindergraphic,followedbythestart-upinformationillustratedbelow,and
the radar starts the magnetron warm-up sequence.
