Using Tracks
5.7 Using Tracks
The Track functionis used to mark on-screen the trail that your vesselhas
followed, as if it had left a visible fixed wake.
Whilethe track is switchedon it is recordedin the displayunit’s memory. You
specifythe intervalat which track points are made and a line is drawn on-
screenbetweeneachpoint.Up to4500trackpointscanbesavedintotal:inthe
current trackand in up to 5 track files (each a maximum of 750 points). The
current trackremains on-screen, even following a power off/on,until you
clear the track.
Breaksin the trackwill be caused when the display unit is switched offor
either of the followingoccur for longer than the specified trackinterval:the
trackis switched off then on; the positionfixis lost.
To enable you to follow this track on your return voyage, the SmartRoute
function convertsthe track (or the lastsegmentof a trackwith breaks)into a
route which is automatically reversed, see SmartRoute onpage 5-42.
A track can be saved and retrieved for display at a later date. Youcan only
displayone track at a time; you must clear a current track from the screen if
you want to displaya saved track.

and Showinga track.
Makinga Trackinto a Route
To access the track controls:
1. Fromthe chart display, pressthe MENU key to displaythe chartset up soft
keys.
2. Press the TRACK SETUP soft key to display the Track soft keys:
