In additionto thedisplay set up options previously described, chart set up
options,describedinChapter 7,allowyoutocustomizethechartbyselecting:
• What cartographicfeaturesand level of detail are displayed.
• Chart orientation (north up,head up or course up), datums andposition offset.
• How waypointsare displayed(symbols and numbers)and the availability
of chartobjectidentificationdata.
• Vectors for heading,COG and tide.
The Screen PresentationOptions, describedin Chapter 2 allow you to switch
theChart Grid On/Off and Custom Chart DetailsOn/Off.
Note:Whenyou turnthedisplayoff andon again,theScreenPresentationset-
tings are retained in memory.

Custom Chart Details
The chartplotterset up options include a sub-menu to customize the
cartographicfeatures.This menu allows you to switch features On, Off, or
control them using the CUSTOM softkey. The factory default settings for the
Custom chart optionsare as follows:
Status Bar
Vessel Position
Cursor -
selecting chart object
Cursor position box
Shows the current
cursor position as
either Range/Bearing
or Lat/Long. You can
move this box to your
preferred position on
the screen or turn it off.
Waypoint
Object data box -
for object selected
by cursor
Default soft key labels
These can be turned off: press any soft key to redisplay them.
Different labels are displayed when you press a key.
