Adjusting Gain, Sea Clutter, Rain Clutter and Tune
Automatic adjustmentof Gain, Sea and Tuneis available,alternatively you
can set any of these parametersto manual and use the trackpadto adjust its
value.Rain clutteris adjusted manually using the RAIN orFTC control.GAIN,
SEA, RAIN and FTC areaccessedfromtheGAIN key;TUNE isaccessedfromthe
MULTI key.We recommend that you leave the TUNE controlin Auto mode.
Note: Gain, Sea and Tune can only be adjusted if the control is set to Manual
adjustment.
When you select manual GAIN, SEA or TUNE adjustment the soft key icon
showsa verticalsliderbar. As you press the trackpad,the valueis indicated in
the slider.
WhenyouswitchFTC or RAIN On,thesoftkeyiconshowsa verticalsliderbar.
As you press the trackpad, the value is indicated in the slider.
If you change the settings,the new GAIN, SEA andTUNE modes (auto or
manual) and values remain set even when you turn the radar offand on again;
Rain andFTC are reset to Off at power-on.The status bar indicates which
controls areswitched to Auto or On,as shown in Figure 3-6.

➤ To adjust a parameter:
1. Select a range appropriate to the adjustment you wish to make. The opti-
mum Tune setting varies slightly for differentranges, depending on the
pulse width used.
2. Press GAIN or MULTI. The slider soft keys are displayed. The last-used
slideris highlighted (displayed in inverse video)to show that it is selected.
3. Pressthe requiredsoft key so that the sliderbox is highlighted.
TheTUNE andGAIN softkeys toggle the controlbetween Auto and Manual
mode. The SEA soft key toggles the control between Auto-Harbour, Auto-
OffshoreandManualmode.IfyouselectManualmodethelastautosetting
is retained. You can only move the slider if the controlis set to Manual.
