6.2 Measuring Distances Using the VRM/EBL Key
You can obtain an accuratemeasurement of the distanceand bearing between
two points by using the VRM/EBL key.
➤ To placea ruler line and Ruler data box:
1. Positionthe cursor on the startingpoint from which you wish to measure.
2. Press VRM/EBL.
A Ruler data box is displayedshowing the bearing and distancefrom the
starting pointto the cursor position. The character A appears at the cursor
location.
3. Use the trackpadto move the cursor to the measurement end point.A line
connectsthe cursor to the startingpoint, and the Ruler data box isupdated
to show the bearing and length of the line as shown in Figure 6-1.
4. Press ENTER to fix the end point of the rulerline, and return to normal cur-
sor control. The letter B marks the location of the end point on the chart.
