SeaTalk
The SeaTalk standard was originally developed by Autohelm (part of
Raymarine),and allows compatible instruments to be connected by a single
cablecarrying power and data in/out. This means that additional instruments
andfunctionscanbeaddedtoaSeaTalksystem,simplybypluggingthem into
the network.
SeaTalkis a precise, high-speed, bi-directional protocol which is flexible
enoughto adapt to any number of instruments, withouta centralprocessor.
SeaTalkequipment can also communicate with non-SeaTalk equipment via
the NMEA standard.
