Chapter 1: An Introduction to Analog
Instruments
1.1 Overview
Various discrete data types can be displayed on dedicated analog
instruments. Instruments are available to show:
Wind speed and direction.
Close hauled wind speed and direction.
Compass bearing and locked heading information.
Rudder angle information.
Each instrument has an analog dial, an inset digital display and four
control buttons.

1.2 General operating information
Instructions for using the individual instrument types are given as
follows:
Wind and Close Hauled Wind normal operation is described in
Section 3, Chapter 2.
