16. Unscrew the four M6 BMC mounting nuts
[8].
Located in the top left BMC mounting
hole.
Located in the bottom left BMC
mounting hole.
Located in the top right BMC mounting
hole.
Located in the bottom right BMC
mounting hole.
17. Remove the BMC enclosure with the BMC
mounted within, outwards from the
lithium-ion battery.
18. Optional: Remove the SD Card [9] and
store in a safe place.

OTE: The installer should remove the SD card
from the old BMC and install it into the
new BMC.
19. Replace the BMC Shunt and BMC Fuse
and tighten the nuts to the terminals.
N
OTE: These should be kept with the BMC
assembly.
20. Install the BMC cover.
BMC Installation
Perform the following steps to install the BMC.
Refer to Figure 7-72.
1. Open the BMC cover with a screwdriver
and remove the BMC F1 Fuse [1].
2. Align the four BMC Mounting Holes with
the four welded standoffs located on the
lithium-ion battery.
3. Screw the BMC Mounting Nuts into the
four BMC mounting holes [8].

Located in the top right BMC mounting
hole.
Located in the bottom right BMC
mounting hole.
4. Install fasteners. Torque fasteners to
6.6 ft. lb. (9 Nm).
5. Guide the power cables through the BMC
wall cutouts.
6. Install the BMC Fuse [6].
7. Place the power cable ring terminals on
the appropriate screw terminal.
8. Truck side B– power cable ring terminal
goes on the top of shunt on the Truck side
B– Terminal [7].
9. Truck side B+ power cable ring terminal
goes on top of the BMC Fuse on the Truck
side B+ and BMC Fuse Terminal [4].
10. Place the BMC I/O Cable Bundle Ground
ring terminal onto the Truck side B–
Terminal [7] (on top of shunt and Truck
side B- Terminal).
11. Install the screw terminal washers and
nuts onto the appropriate screw terminals.
12. Install fasteners. Torque fasteners to
6.6 ft. lb. (9 Nm).
13. Install the cable glands [3] into the side of
the BMC walls.
14. Install fasteners. Torque fasteners to
2.8 ft. lb. (3.75 Nm).
15. Install the BMC I/O and Power Connector
[2].
16. Plug in the shunt [10] or speaker
connector, if not presently connected.
17. Attach the Cell Module Assembly power
cables to the Cell Module Assembly using
the pre-installed screws on the Cell
Module Assembly.
18. Install fasteners. Torque fasteners to
6.6 ft. lb. (9 Nm).
19. Install the BMC F1 Fuse [1] and replace
the cover.
20. Optional: Replace the SD card [9] with the
old SD card if this is a replacement.
21. Place the BMC cover on the BMC
enclosure and tighten the cover using the
four screws attached to the cover.
22. Install fasteners. Torque fasteners to
1.3 ft. lb. (1.8 Nm).
23. Install the front cover. See “Front Cover
Installation” on page 7-50.
24. Install the top cover. See “Top Cover
Installation” on page 7-49.
