Electrical Components Lithium-Ion Battery

8. Unscrew the four charger mounting bolts
[4] on the four corners of the charger.
Charger Installation
Perform the following steps to install the
Charger. Refer to Figure 7-73.
1. Align the charger mounting holes to the
studs welded to the lithium-ion battery
and position the charger in place.
2. Install the four charger mounting nuts [4].
3. Install fasteners. Torque fasteners to
6.6 ft. lb. (9 Nm).
4. Install the B+ and B- ring connectors on
the appropriate terminal in the DC output
location.
5. Install fasteners. Torque fasteners to
3.3 ft. lb. (4.5 Nm).
6. Place the DC output housing over the DC
output terminals [3].
7. Verify two tabs have locked into place.
8. Install the charger I/O connector [2] into
the I/O socket.
9. Install the charger AC input connector [1]
into the charger.
Do not reverse the polarity on the DC
output side during installation. This
could result in sparks, fire, or explosion;
and damage to property and/or injury
to personnel are possible.
10. Install the front cover. See “Front Cover
Installation” on page 7-50.
11. Install the top cover. See “Top Cover
Installation” on page 7-49.
12. Reconnect the battery connector. Place the
Main ON/OFF Switch in the ON position.
If equipped with the optional keypad, enter
your PIN-key code and then press the
green ON ( | ) key.
13. Test the operation of the truck.
Charger Cord
Charge Cord Removal
Perform the following steps to remove the
Charge Cord. Refer to Figure 7-73.
1. If equipped with the optional keypad,
press the red OFF ( O ) key. Place the Main
ON/OFF Switch in the OFF position.
Disconnect the battery connector from the
truck.
2. Remove the top cover. See “Top Cover
Removal” on page 7-49.
3. Remove the front cover. See “Front Cover
Removal” on page 7-50.
4. Pinch the tabs on the charger AC input
connector [1] and disconnect the plug.
5. Slide the split cord grip [5] out of the
cubby.
6. Guide the AC charge cord assembly
through the cubby.
Charge Cord Installation
Perform the following steps to install the Charge
Cord. Refer to Figure 7-73.
1. Guide the AC charge cord through the
cubby.
2. Install the split cord grip [5] into the notch
at the bottom of the cubby.
3. Install fasteners. Torque fasteners to
0.5 ft. lb. (0.63 Nm).
4. Plug the charger AC input connector [1]
into the AC socket.
5. Install the front cover. See “Front Cover
Installation” on page 7-50.
6. Install the top cover. See “Top Cover
Installation” on page 7-49.
7. Reconnect the battery connector. Place the
Main ON/OFF Switch in the ON position.
If equipped with the optional keypad, enter
your PIN-key code and then press the
green ON ( | ) key.
8. Test the operation of the truck.
