Lithium-Ion Battery Electrical Components

3. Remove the front cover. See “Front Cover
Removal” on page 7-50.
4. Remove the BMC cover with a screwdriver
and remove the BMC F1 Fuse [1].
5. Remove the Truck side B– Terminal nut [7]
and remove the B– cable from the
termination.
6. Remove the Truck side B+ and BMC Fuse
Terminal nut [4] and remove the B+ cable
from the termination.
7. Loosen the B+ Power Cord Cable Gland [3].
8. Loosen the B– Power Cord Cable Gland [3].
9. Disconnect the SBX communication
connector from the lithium-ion battery.
10. Remove the SBX Cable Assembly mount
from the lithium-ion battery.
11. Guide the power cords through the cable
holes in the wall of the BMC enclosure.
SBX Cable Assembly Installation
Perform the following steps to install the SBX
Cable Assembly. Refer to Figure 7-77.
1. Open the BMC cover with a screwdriver
and remove the BMC F1 Fuse.
2. Guide the power B+ and B- power cords
through the power cord holes in the wall of
the BMC enclosure.
3. Install the B+ power cord ring terminal to
the Truck side B+ and BMC Fuse Terminal
[4] and the B– power cord ring terminal
the Truck side B– Terminal [7].
4. Install washers and nuts to both
terminals.
5. Install fasteners. Torque fasteners to
6.6 ft. lb. (9 Nm).
6. Install the Power Cord Cable Gland [3].
7. Install fasteners. Torque fasteners to
2.8 ft. lb. (3.75 Nm).
8. Connect the SBX communication
connector to the lithium-ion battery.
9. Install the SBX Cable Assembly to the
lithium-ion battery.
10. Install fasteners. Torque fasteners to
6.6 ft. lb. (9 Nm).
11. Install the front cover. See “Front Cover
Installation” on page 7-50.
12. Install the top cover. See “Top Cover
Installation” on page 7-49.
13. Reconnect the battery connector. Place the
Main ON/OFF Switch in the ON position.
If equipped with the optional keypad, enter
your PIN-key code and then press the
green ON ( | ) key.
14. Test the operation of the truck.
