Descriptions
1. Controller (Main Board)
Controls the memory and the fax/scanner/printer options.
2. BICU (Base Engine and Image Control Unit)
This is the scanner and engine control board. It controls the following functions:
• Engine sequence
• Timing control for peripherals
• Image processing control and video control
• Operation control
• Drive control for the sensors, motors, and solenoids of the printer and
scanner
• High voltage supply board control
• Fusing control
3. IOB (Input/Output Board)
Controls the sensors, motors, clutches, and solenoids of the main unit.
4. Scanner IOB (Scanner Input/Output Board)
Handles the following functions.
• Serial interfaces with ARDF and operation panel
• Scanner motor control
5. SBU (Sensor Board Unit)
The SBU converts the analog signals from the CCD into digital signals.
