Afterthepreparationsdescribedabovehasbeen
carriedout,theecholevelfortheselectedaudio
beamwillbedisplayedintheEchoLevelbuttonin
theSystemTestmenu.
3Ifnoiseisshownonthedisplay,usetheTrainleftandTrain
right(arrow)buttonsontheOperatingPaneltoturnthe
whiteaudiolinetothenoisyareaonthedisplay.
4ReadthecurrentecholeveldisplayedbytheEchoLevel
button.
5Writedownthemeasuredecholevelhere.
Echolevel(dB):
6Switchoffthesonar.
Startingupthesonarsystem
Todothenaltests,thevesselmustbeinthesea.Thisis
becausethetransduceralwaysmustbeinwaterbeforeyoustart
transmitting.
WARNING
Ifthesonarsystemstartstransmittingwhilethe
transducerarrayisinopenair,thismaylead
toseriousdamagetothetransducerandthe
transmitters.
Thefollowingsetofproceduresrequirestwopersons:
Onepersonmustbestationedonthebridgetooperatethe
sonar.
Onepersonmuststayinthesonarroomtomakesurethe
TransceiverUnitworksproperly.
Makesurethatpropercommunicationexistsbetweenthetwo
locations.
Note
Shouldproblemsoccurinthesonarroom,thepersoninthesonar
roommustsettheserviceswitchS1onthePSUMainpower
supplyto“Off”(middleposition).
