Heavyunitsmaybeequippedwithliftinglugsfortransportation
bycranewithintheworkshoporinstallationarea.Beforeyou
useacrane:
•Youmustchecktheapplicableweightcerticateforthecrane.
•Youmustcheckthesecurityoftheliftinglugs.
Ensurethatallavailableliftinglugsareused.Ensuretheunit
remainsundercontrolduringtheoperationtoavoiddamageto
theunit,equipmentorpersonnel.
Heavyunitsmaybetransportedusingaforklifttruck.Special
attentionmustthenbepaidtothepositionoftheunit’scentreof
gravity.Theunitsmustbeproperlysecuredtothetruck.
Storagepriortoinstallationoruse
Whenasystem,aunitoraspareparthasbeendeliveredto
thecustomer,itmaybesubjecttolongtimestorageprior
toinstallationanduse.Duringthisstorageperiod,certain
specicationsmustbemet.Theequipmentmustbepreserved
andstoredinsuchawaythatitdoesnotconstituteanydanger
tohealth,environmentorpersonalinjury.
1Theequipmentmustbestoredinitsoriginaltransportation
crate.
2Ensurethattheunitsareclearlyseparatedintheshelvesand
thateachunitiseasilyidentiable.
3Thecratemustnotbeusedforanypurposeforwhichitwas
notintended(eg.workplatformetc.).
4Thecratesmustnotbeplacedontopofeachother,unless
specicmarkingspermitthis.
5Thecratesmustnotbeplaceddirectlyonadirt-oor.
6Donotopenthecrateforinspectionunlessspecial
circumstancespermitso.
•“Specialcircumstances”maybesuspecteddamagetothe
crateanditscontent,orinspectionsbycivilauthorities.
•Ifanyunitsaredamaged,prepareaninspectionreport
statingtheconditionoftheunitandactionstaken.
Describethedamageandcollectphotographicevidence
ifpossible.Re-preservetheequipment.
•Iftheunitsarenotdamaged,checkthehumidity
absorbingmaterial.Ifrequired,dryorreplacethe
bags,thenre-packtheunit(s)accordingtothepacking
instructions.
