6.10 Changing Pre-
Filters
6.10.1 Dual Pre-Filter and
Pressure Regulator Assembly
Cartridges (Required
Accessory)
To evaluate how frequently filter cartridges must be changed in your
facility, review last ten cycle printouts. An increase in filling time
indicates cartridges are clogged and need to be changed. Change
filter cartridge "A" first and then verify filling time. If filling time does
not decrease, change filter cartridge "B"
and then verify filling time. If
fill time does not decrease, change 0.2 μm bacterial-retentive filter
cartridge (see S
ECTION 6.10.2, 0.2 µm BACTERIAL-RETENTIVE FILTER
CARTRIDGE).
See Figure 6-6.
Replace pre-filter cartridges as follows:
1. Close manual ball valve before pre-filters by turning lever
counterclockwise to 90° position (relative to piping).
2. Close manual ball valve after pre-filters by turning lever
counterclockwise to 90° position (relative to piping).
3. Remove face panel. Face panel is held by magnets. Pull to
remove.
4. Exhaust air. Press purge button located on top of each pre-filter
housing to exhaust air and depressurize system.
5. Remove filter housing. Using spanner wrench, unscrew filter
bowl from housing body (counterclockwise).
6. Remove filter cartridge. Remove and discard old filter
cartridge.
7. Rinse. Rinse housing bow
l with clean water.
8. Install new filter cartridges.
a. For "A" filter: Insert filter cartridge (P117018-722) into
housing bowl, with black O-ring facing up.
b. For "B" filter: Insert filter cartridge (P117018-72
3), into filter
housing body, with black O-ring facing up.
9. Reinstall filter bowl. Screw filter bowl onto filter housing
(clockwise). Tighten filter bowl using spanner wrench until
resistance is felt. Do not overtighten.
10. Open manual ball valve before pre-filters by turning lever
clockwise to original position (in line with piping).
11. Exhaust air. Exhaust air from both pre-filters. Press purge
button located on top of each pre-filter housing to exhaust air,
until water comes out from button.
12. Open manual ball valve after pre-filters by turning lever
clockwise to original position (in line with piping).
13. Reinstall face panel.

conditions, immediately wipe
up any spilled liquids or
drippage. If spilled liquids or
drippage are detergents or
other chemicals, follow safety
precautions and handling
procedures set forth on
detergent or chemical label
and/or Safety Data Sheet
(SDS).
