4.4.6 Self-Diagnostic The leak test self-diagnostic is available to the user and is to be
performed without any endoscope to verify the integrity of the
system. The leak test self-diagnostic lasts approximately 90
seconds. Leak test self-diagnostic can be performed with either the
door opened or closed.
Performing such a test without any hose assembly connected in the
processor allows the verification of the system.
To proceed with leak test self-diagnostic without any hose assembly
connected, go directly to Step 5.
R
unning the same test with the hose assembly connected and using
the plug provided on the other extremity allows verification of the
hose assembly. See S
ECTION 4.4.1, PREPARATION, for details on how
to connect hose assembly and see S
ECTION 4.4.3, STARTING CYCLE.
To run leak test self-diagnostic using a hose plug on hose assembly,
proceed as follows:
1. Select appropriate leak test hose (see S
ECTION 4.4.1,
P
REPARATION, and Figure 4-16 for details).
2. Connect quick connect extremity of leak test hose(s) to flexible
connection(s) labeled 1 and/or 2 (see S
ECTION 4.4.1,
P
REPARATION, for details).
3. Select appropriate hose plug.
For example, hose plugs are identified "O" for Olympus
®
endoscopes, "P" for Pentax
®
endoscopes or "F" for Fujifilm
®
endoscopes(see Figure 4-21).
4. Connect hose plug to leak test hose other extremity.
NOTE: Hose plug must remain in place on the extremity of the
leak test hose for the duration of the leak test self-diagnostic.
CAUTION POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT
DAMAGE: Remove any
automated leak test hoses
present in endoscope
processing support before
performing a D-SHORT or a D-
LONG cycle. Performing a
decontamination cycle (D-
SHORT and D-LONG) with
automated leak test hose
assemblies present may
cause water to enter hoses.
Inspect leak test hose
assemblies for presence of
water prior to processing a
cycle. Water in tubing may
cause damage to endoscopes.
