7.2 Fault Chart IMPORTANT: When a situation occurs with the Reliance EPS
Processor, an alarm will sound. Refer to S
ECTION 4.13, RESPONDING
TO
A FAULT, on how to respond to faults.
IMPORTANT: When a fault condition or situation occurs, the cycle
automatically stops. Endoscopes may have to be reprocessed
through a complete Reliance EPS Cycle.
FAULT POSSIBLE CAUSE AND CORRECTION
FAULT 01 – Not used.
Alarm sounds, and display shows:
FAULT 02

alternating with:

NOTE: HTW = Hot Tap Water.
1. Building or processor hot water supply valve is not fully
open.
• Open hot water supply valves. Press START touch
pad to resume cycle.
2. Building supply-line strainers are clogged. Verify strainer;
clean if necessary.
3. Dual Pre-Filter and Pressure Regulator Assembly (required
accessory) needs service.
a. Verify last ten cycle printouts. An increase of maximum
filling time indicates Dual Pre-Filter and Pressure
Regulator Assembly cartridges are clogged. Change
filter cartridges (refer to S
ECTION 6.10.1).
b. Perform a cycle. If a situation reoccurs, change
0.2 μm bacterial-retentive filter cartridge (refer to
S
ECTION 6.10.2).
c. If situation reoccurs, see Step 4.
4. Air bubble in hot water supply lines.
a. Press START touch pad to resume cycle. Processor
will be drained and should evacuate any air present.
b. If situation reoccurs, see Step 5.
5. Building hot water supply pressure is too low (refer to
equipment drawing [920-011-656]). Call STERIS.*
6. Other possible causes:
- Defective hot water fill valves.
- Defective water level switch.
- Defective drain valve.

FAULT 03 –
Not used.
