2.3 Chemical Additive
Descriptions
2.3.1 Washing Detergent Klenzyme Enzymatic Presoak and Cleaner Single enzyme-
based detergent for surgical instruments, flexible endoscopes
and other medical apparatus used in healthcare facilities.
This product is provided in a special Bag-in-a-Box container
developed to ease handling and installation.
2.3.2 Dry Chemistry Reliance dry chemistry – When combined with water, this two-
part dry formulation generates a dose of peracetic acid
sufficient to safely and effectively high level disinfect up to two
manually cleaned, immersible reusable, heat-sensitive, semi-
critical devices such as GI flexible endoscopes, bronchoscopes
and their accessories, without damaging the components or
creating hazardous substances. High level disinfection is
ach
ieved within the 50-57°C HLD phase of the endoscope
processing cycle (4-minute generation segment followed by a
6-minute exposure segment).
2.3.3 Decontamination
Chemistry
To help prevent contamination of the processor that may occur during
periods of inactivity, STERIS requires the following product be used
with the D-LONG cycle (refer to S
ECTION 6.11, D-LONG CYCLE):
CIP 200 Acid-Based Process and Research Cleaner A
liquid, acidic detergent system specially formulated to meet
unique cleaning demands. It effectively removes a wide range of
process residues, from inorganic salts to particulate carbon.
This product is provided in a special Bag-in-a-Box container
developed to ease handling and installation.
