g. Open Reliance CDS.
h. Insert one Reliance dry chemistry container (refer to
Reliance dry chemistry package insert).
i. Close Reliance CDS and latch.
j. Insert one STERIS chemical indicator strip in clip on control
handle boot "A" (see S
ECTION 4.6, INSERTING STERIS
CHEMICAL INDICATOR STRIP).
k. Ensure pre-processing checklist was completed (see
S
ECTION 4.7, PRE-PROCESSING CHECKLIST).
l. Roll endoscope processing support into chamber. Push
firmly so it connects into manifold connectors at back of
chamber.
m. Manually rotate spray arms on chamber ceiling and under
endoscope processing support to ensure they rotate freely.
n. Close processor door.
o. Press DOUBLE touch pad once to process a DOUBLE
endoscope processing cycle with washing (see S
ECTION 4.8,
PROCESSING CYCLE, for more details on how to process cycle).
p. Let cycle proceed through all cycle phases (refer to Table 5-1,
Cycle Description Chart, and S
ECTION 4.8.5, MONITORING
CYCLE, for details).
4.4 Optional
Automated Leak Test
See Figures 4-16, 4-17 and 4-18.
IMPORTANT: Ensure leak test is selected in Miscellaneous Values
menu of Supervisor mode (refer to S
ECTION 5.2.3, SETTING
MISCELLANEOUS VALUES, for details).
4.4.1 Preparation Ensure endoscopes and their accessories were prepared and
loaded as described in Endoscope Quick Reference Guide and in
S
ECTION 4.3, LOADING ENDOSCOPE PROCESSING SUPPORT. Insert the
Reliance dry chemistry and the STERIS chemical indicator in the
endoscope processing support AFTER connection of leak test
hose(s) to flexible connection(s) and AFTER connection of leak test
hose(s) to endoscope leak test port(s). Refer to Endoscope Quick
Reference Guide , S
ECTION 4.5, INSTALLING RELIANCE DRY CHEMISTRY
CONTAINER, and SECTION 4.6, INSERTING STERIS CHEMICAL INDICATOR
STRIP, for details, instructions and Safety Precautions.
IMPORTANT: To ensure all pressure is relieved from endoscope
prior to processing, proceed as follows:
1) Remove endoscope soaking cap from endoscope(s).
2) Reinstall endoscope soaking cap on endoscope(s).
CAUTION POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT
DAMAGE: Inspect leak test hose
assemblies and chamber
flexible connections for
presence of water prior to
processing. Water in tubing
during automated leak test may
cause damage to endoscope.
