4.2 General
Processing Guidelines
All personnel involved with the use of this equipment must
carefully review and comply with all the warnings, cautions and
instructions contained in this section. These instructions are
important to help ensure efficient processing of the flexible
endoscopes, as well as to protect the health and safety of the
personnel using the processor.
The Reliance Endoscope Processing System Quick-Reference Wall
Chart (P920011-651) lists the main steps necessary to achieve
successful processing of flexible endoscopes. Please display the
wall chart near the processor.
IMPORTANT: This wall chart is to be used as a checklist only, and is
in no way meant to replace the thorough reading and understanding
of this manual.
The Quick Reference Wall Chart - Flow Units is also available. This
wall chart lists the Flow Units to be used with the Reliance EPS for
specific models of endoscopes. Please display the wall chart near
the processor.
The Endoscope Quick Reference Guide is also available. This guide
contains the list of endoscopes that are compatible with the
processor, as well as details on how to use the list, prepare
endoscopes for processing and attach the Flow Units. Please refer to
the Endoscope Quick Reference Guide before processing any
endoscopes.
IMPORTANT: The list of devices given in the Endoscope Quick
Reference Guide may not be all-inclusive but reflects the complete
information available to STERIS Corporation at the date of its
publication. Medical devices can be added to the list without further
notice. To obtain the most current list of medical devices that can be
processed in this processor, contact STERIS.
Use the checklist found in S
ECTION 4.7, PRE-PROCESSING CHECKLIST,
to ensure all steps described in SECTION 4.3, LOADING ENDOSCOPE
PROCESSING SUPPORT, to SECTION 4.6, INSERTING STERIS CHEMICAL
INDICATOR STRIP, are completed.
4.3 Loading
Endoscope Processing
Support
This section contains important information on the proper placement
of endoscopes in the endoscope processing support. All personnel
involved in the use of this equipment must carefully review and
comply with all the following warnings, cautions and instructions.
IMPORTANT: Ensure all items have been manually cleaned, leak
tested and prepared for immersion before placing them in the
endoscope processing support (refer to the Endoscope Quick
Reference Guide for details).
1. Press top portion of POWER (ON/OFF) toggle switch if
processor is not ON. Display shows:
