3.1 Processor –
General
Before operating the Reliance™ EPS Processor, it is important to
become familiar with the location and function of all major
components and controls (see Figures 3-1 to 3-4).
NOTE: For a 50 Hz processor, also refer to Operator Manual
Information Supplement (P920501-322) for specific components.
3.1.1 Chamber Door See Figure 3-1.
A front-loading, drop-down door is provided to facilitate loading of the
processor. The door is constructed of 316 stainless steel covered with
a plastic panel. The panel is strong and easy to clean. A tempered
glass window allows the operator to view the chamber interior while a
cycle is in progress. Panel and glass window remain relatively cool
to the touch.
A microswitch prevents a cycle from starting if the door is not fully
closed. The processor is also provided with an UNLOCK toggle
sw
itch that must be pressed before opening the door.
3.1.2 Service Access Panel See Figure 3-1.
The front bottom service access panel provides an easy access to
the 0.2 μm bacterial-retentive filter, cleaner injection pumps, fresh
container detection meter and other components for maintenance.
3.1.3 Base See Figures 3-1 and 3-2.
The processor base offers an ergonomic way of loading and
unloading the endoscope processing support.
3.1.4 Bag-in-a-Box
Compartment
See Figure 3-1.
A three-shelf compartment is provided at the right of the chamber. The
top two shelves are designed to receive Bag-in-a-Box containers and
are provided with specially-designed connectors. The Bag-in-a-Box
compartment drop-down door is made of the same easy-to-clean
plastic as the chamber door panel.
