6.10.2 0.2 µm Bacterial-
Retentive Filter Cartridge
See Figure 6-7.
0.2 μm bacterial-retentive filter must be replaced at least every
90 days (default, adjustable from 0 to 90 days in Supervisor mode;
refer to S
ECTION 5.2.3, SETTING MISCELLANEOUS VALUES). This time
period may be shorter depending on water quality. A filter integrity
system also triggers a maintenance due message when cartridge
needs to be changed (refer to S
ECTION 7, TROUBLESHOOTING). To
change cartridge, proceed as follows:
1. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when
replacing 0.2 μm bacterial-retentive filter cartridge.
2. If processor is ON, press bottom portion of POWER (ON/OFF)
toggle switch to turn processor OFF. Put processor main
disconnect switch to OFF position.
3. Remove screw holding service access panel to frame and
remove panel.
4. Disconnect venting connection of filter integrity system from
housing cap (see Figure 6-7).
5. Turn filter housing cap counterclockwise to loosen. Remove cap
(see Fi
gure 6-7).
6. Pull out old filter cartridge and discard.
7. Open plastic bag containing new filter cartridge from end
closest to filter cartridge O-ring.
8. With filter still in plastic bag, slightly wet O-ring with water to ease
insertion.
9. Hold cartridge through bag. Insert new filter cartridge, O-ring
first, into filter housing. Turn 1/4-turn clockwise while pushing.
Remove plastic bag and discard.
10. To reinstall filter housing cap, turn clockwise until fully
tightened.
11. Reconnect venting connection to filter housing cap.
12. Ensure to wipe up any spilled water around filter housing and
floor area.
13. Reinstall service access panel with previously removed screw.
14. Put processor main disconnect switch to ON position. Press top
portion of POWER (ON/OFF) toggle switch to turn processor
ON.

Fasteners and star washers
are used to ensure protective
bonding continuity. Always
reinstall any star washer
which may have been
removed during installation
or servicing.

switch to turn off processor

cut off electrical
power. Lockout/Tagout
building electrical disconnect
switch to turn off power to
processor for maintenance
or repairs.
CAUTION POSSIBLE EQUIPMENT
DAMAGE:
When installing or replacing
0.2 µm bacterial-retentive
filter cartridge, do not
touch cartridge with bare
hands to prevent oils from
being deposited. Open
plastic wrapping and hold
filter cartridge through
wrapping when inserting
into filter housing.
Before removing 0.2 µm
bacterial-retentive filter
housing cap, always
disconnect air vent for filter
integrity system.
