4.9.2 VERIFICATION 2
Process
Reliance CDS
1. Open Reliance CDS and remove empty Reliance dry chemistry
container.
2. Verify absence of solid residue in bottom of Reliance CDS and
Reliance dry chemistry container.
If any solid residue remains, refer to S
ECTION 7, TROUBLESHOOTING,
and to S
ECTION 4.17, DISPOSING OF EXPIRED DRY CHEMISTRY.
NOTE: Rinse water may be dripping from used container – this is
normal.
3. Discard empty container in regular trash.
Chemical Indicator for Reliance EPS
A STERIS chemical indicator validated for use with the Reliance EPS
is used as an independent monitor of the Reliance EPS Cycle. The
chemical indicator is designed to change from the color of the
"START" reference block on the label to the color of the "ENDPOINT"
reference block upon exposure to an effective dose of peracetic
acid generated during a cycle. A chemical indicator for the Reliance
EPS MUST be used in every cycle.
At the end of the Reliance EPS Cycle, remove the chemical indicator
from the indicator clip on control handle boot "A" and read and
interpret the results as instructed in the chemical indicator package
insert.
