26) Inspection of Bevel Gear B
1. Check the teeth and spline of the bevel gear B for cracks,
damage, and wear.
Replace if necessary.
27) Assembly of Drive Shaft
1. Use a press and an appropriate pipe to install the taper
roller bearing

Before installing the taper roller bearing, clean and then
apply gear oil to the drive shaft installation surface.
Do not press the drive shaft thread

directly.
Place a protector (suitable steel plate) on
the tip of the shaft.

Do not reuse.
b Outer Diameter: 26.9 mm (1.06 in)
c Inner Diameter: 20 mm (0.79 in)

2. Install the drive shaft spring 2.
With the small diameter side of the spring down,
align the end turn with the groove on the lower
side.
