16) Disassembly of Propeller Shaft Assy
1. Remove the push rod 1 and ball 2.
2. Insert a flathead screwdriver into one end of the clutch
pin snap 3, and remove the snap from the clutch groove
while winding it.
3 Clutch Pin Snap
Do not reuse.
3. Pull out the clutch pin 4, and remove the spring retainer
5 and clutch spring 6 while referring to the diagram.
WARNING
When removing the clutch pin, wear
safety glasses, and do not point the
opening of the propeller shaft toward your
face or body while holding the propeller
shaft. The clutch pin or spring holder may
fly out very quickly.
Install the push rod, press the propeller
shaft against a flat surface to prevent the
clutch spring from flying out, and pull out
the pin.
4. After removing the clutch spring and spring retainer,
remove the clutch 7 from the propeller shaft.
