3.12 BASIC Setting
The Basic function enables the printer to operate with the program created for other printers, by converting
it to Basic program and downloading this Basic program to the printer.
This BASIC setting used to following setting.
LCD Message Description Default
BASIC ENABLE Basic Interpreter Setting BASIC OFF
FILE MAINTENANCE Basic File Browser Setting Name of data stored in the BASIC file
storage area (00 to 13 + name)
BASIC TRACE Basic Trace Setting TRACE OFF
EXPAND MODE Basic Expansion Mode Executed when the BASIC expansion
mode program is loaded. (Refer to
section 3.9)
For details, refer to System Mode (for service personnel or administrator)
Operation Example
ON LINE
“PAUSE” is displayed.
PAUSE
[PAUSE]
Press the [PAUSE] key.
[PAUSE]
Press and hold the [PAUSE] key for at least 3 seconds.
<1>RESET
The reset menu is displayed.
The printer is turned on, standing by, or printing.
<8>BASIC SETTING
[POWER]

Press the [POWER] key.
When “<1>PARAMETER SET” appears, press the [PAUSE] or [FEED] keys until the
following display appears.
