Toll Restriction
4-2
Strata DK40 Programming Manual Spring 1999
Toll Restriction Features
For description purposes, Toll Restriction is enhanced with several sub-features.
The sub-features operate independently of the restriction method i.e. Exception Tables and
Override Codes.
Toll Restriction Allowed/Denied Tables Classes 1 ~ 4
There are up to four classes of Toll Restriction. These are defined to assign different levels of
outgoing access to individual stations. Each class can be programmed to either allow or deny
specific STD/International or Local codes. The classes themselves are split into two sections
the first which applies the STD/International calls class of service (Program 46, Codes 2 ~ 4)
and the second which applies the Local calls class of service (see Program 46, Codes.6 ~ 8).
STD, International and Local Code Exception Tables
Class 1 ~ 4 restrictions can be further modified by defining as many as sixteen exception
tables to allow access to specific codes that fall within previously restricted STD,
International or Local area codes (Program 47). Each exception table can be assigned to any
or all of the Toll Restriction Classes 1 ~ 4, as can more than one exception table be assigned
to the same Toll Restriction Class (Program 46-11 ~ 41).
Emergency Numbers Toll Restriction Override
Toll Restricted stations must be allowed to dial special codes such as 999 / 112 for
emergency calls. Ensure that this is catered for (Program 46, Codes 6 ~ 8).
Important!
Always be sure to provide access to emergency numbers such as 999 & 112.
Toll Restriction Override by System Speed Dial:
System Speed Dial numbers can be programmed to override Toll Restriction
(see Basic System Features, Program 10-1).
Toll Restriction/Travelling Class Override Codes:
Up to two Toll Restriction Override Codes can be defined. When dialled at a toll restricted
station, these codes enable the user to override any toll restrictions defined for that station
(Program 45-8 ~ 9). In addition each Toll Restriction Class may have a Travelling Override
code assigned. If a user with Class 1 allocated, wished to make a call from a station with class
2 or higher restriction, they would dial the override code which would replace that stations
restriction with that of their own level (i.e. Class 1) for the duration of the call. These codes
may be changed by specific stations chosen in programming (see Basic System
Features, Program 30).
Day and Night Toll Restriction
Station users can have a different levels of Toll Restriction during day and night mode.
The level allocated in day mode is assigned in Program 48 and night mode is assigned
in Program 49.
