Removing the fuse interrupts the voltage supply for fuel pump
activation.
– Apply assembly tool - T10118- to locking mechanism button
-arrow- and carefully pull connector off.
– Push on puller - T10095 A- on from flat side of connector in
direction of arrow and pull out ignition coil with output stage.
– Unscrew spark plugs using spark plug socket and extension -
3122 B- .
– Check compression using compression tester - V.A.G 1763- ,
adapter - V.A.G 1381/1- and adapter - V.A.G 1381/5A- .
Note
Using compression tester ⇒ operating instructions .
– Have a second mechanic operate starter until tester shows no
further pressure increase.

– Insert spark plugs using spark plug socket - 3122 B- and tight‐
