Test conditions
• Engine oil temperature min. 60 °C.
• Vehicle is level.
• Wait a few minutes after switching engine off to allow oil to flow
back into sump.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Oil level test tool - T40178-
Test sequence
– Loosen knurled screw -arrow- on setting ring. Set lower edge
of adjustment ring to 16 mm.
– Push tester into dipstick tube as far as it will go (setting ring),
then pull it out again and read off the oil level.
– Read off the value on the lower scale.
