Install seal:
– Pull seal -A- with the outer side over the sleeve - T10122/1- of
fitting tool - T10122- onto pulling sleeve - T10122/2- .
– Separate the two fitting sleeves.
– Then set pulling sleeve - T10122/2- with dry oil seal onto
crankshaft journal.
– Tap sealing ring into sealing flange as far as it will go, using
the thrust piece - T10122/3- to do so.
Further assembly is basically a reverse of the dismantling se‐
quence.
2.4 Removing and installing sealing flange
on gearbox side
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Hand drill with plastic brush
♦ Safety glasses
♦ Sealant - D 176 501 A1-
Removing:
Proceed as follows:
– Remove engine ⇒ page 7 .
– Separate engine and gearbox.
– Secure engine on engine and gearbox support - VAS 6095-
⇒ page 21 .
– Remove drive plate ⇒ page 45 .
– Remove sump ⇒ page 119 .
