2.3 Renewing seals on injectors
Note
♦
The »long« injectors for cylinders No. 1, 3 and 5 must not be
separated.
♦
The combustion chamber seal (Teflon) on the injector must
not be oiled or greased.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Tool set - T10133-
Procedure
Renewing combustion chamber seal (Teflon):
– Remove lower part of intake manifold ⇒ page 239 .
– Remove injectors ⇒ page 221 .
– Clean injector carefully.
– Carefully cut open seal with a knife. Avoid contact between
knife blade and valve body under all circumstances.
– Remove old seal and clean seal groove in area of seal
-arrow-. Remove coking deposits using a brass wire brush.
– Fit new oil seal -1- onto assembly cone - T10133/5- . Using
assembly sleeve - T10133/6- (knurled end faces seal -1-),
gently slide seal onto assembly cone - T10133/5- as far as
possible.
