1.3 Removing and installing poly-V belt
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Hexagon bolt M8×50
Removing poly V-belt:
– Mark poly V-belt direction of rotation.
– Press tensioning arm in -direction of arrow- using a suitable
screwdriver.
– Screw M8×50 bolt into threaded hole -A- and secure poly V-
belt tensioning roller.
Note
Screw in bolt only far enough to remove poly V-belt, as tensioning
roller housing may otherwise be damaged.
– Remove poly V-belt.
Installing poly V-belt:
Note
♦
Ensure, before installing poly V-belt, that all ancillaries (alter‐
nator, air conditioner compressor vane pump) are secured
tightly.
♦
Check that idler roller turns easily.
♦
When fitting the poly V-belt observe belt direction of rotation
and that the belt is seated correctly in the belt pulleys.
– Install poly V-belt and remove M8 bolt from tensioning roller.
After completing repairs always:
– Start engine and check belt running.
