– Remove bolts -A- for right and left suspension struts.
– Remove bolts for gearbox transverse support -1- and for sub‐
frame -3 and 4-.
Caution
Be very careful when lowering. Make sure that all connections
to the body have been detached. Do this now if necessary.
– Now slowly lower engine/gearbox assembly, constantly ob‐
serving the clearance.
– On left and right sides, tighten one securing bolt with nut
-arrow- from subframe mounting. This prevents the engine
carrier from slipping.
1.2 Separating engine and gearbox
– Unscrew or detach all necessary pipes, hoses and lines from
gearbox. Please also observe “Removing and installing gear‐
box” procedure ⇒ Automatic gearbox 0C8 - 8-speed; Rep. gr.
37 ; Removing gearbox - vehicles with VR6 engine .
– Remove starter.
